Carmex Healing Cream and Hydrating Lotion Review & Giveaway!

Thursday, March 28, 2013 3

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review two wonderful products from Carmex. Carmex, known, for the salve for chapped lips and cold sores was invented in 1936.  In 2011, Carmex released their new Carmex Healing Cream, and Carmex Healing Lotion.  I was super excited to try it when it first released and again now, thanks to Carmex, I am a member of the Carmex Blog Squad!

Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20 years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars.
Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin. Carma Labs employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the family: Alfred's grandsons Eric and Paul Woelbing. The Woelbing stove is now used for cooking things the family can actually eat.

A little info about the Healing lotion and cream:

First skin care products from Carmex brand. Uses a patent-pending process and rich healing ingredients to heal, moisturize and help repair dry, rough skin without leaving a greasy feel.

Carmex Healing Lotion

5.5-ounce lotion features aloe and vitamin E to moisturize, heal and protect skin from dryness Formulated for daily use with a light, pleasant scent.

Carmex Healing Cream

4-ounce cream is a thicker, more concentrated formula that penetrates deep into the skin to help repair extremely dry, cracked skin. Features nine concentrated healing and moisturizing ingredients. Particularly effective on hands, feet, elbows and knees.

The Healing Cream is used to help repair the driest, roughest skin, and the Healing Lotion, is for everyday use to soothe and protect dry skin. They retail for $5.99 and can be found at Walgreen's and CVS, and Walmart.

I spent the last couple of weeks using both the cream and lotion. The Healing Cream comes in a 4oz tube. It has an easy to open/close, flip-up, snap-close
top, and top and, like the tube says, repairs your driest, roughest skin.

Look at some of the products that Carmex offers!

This was a perfect time for this product as my knuckles were getting quite dried out from the recent change in weather.  It gets so dry here in the wintertime.    I applied this in the morning, and I first noticed a really nice, pleasant scent, nothing too extreme, not flowery, nor manly. I didn't get the typical greasiness, you find in some lotions, it was just cool and soothing.

I used the healing lotion, in the evening, This also has an easy to open/close flip-up, snap-close top. The Healing Lotion is in a 5.5 oz. tube, and is for daily use to soothe and protect dry skin. I primarily used this in the evening, before sleeping. The lotion was absorbed quickly into my skin, and again, felt cool and soothing. Again, no lingering greasy feeling. Overall, after a week, actually less, my hands feel great! The excessive dryness is resolved. I will continue to use the healing lotion, throughout the winter, and the cream as needed.

Carmex also sent me a 'Carmex' hoodie, in Carmex yellow!  Yellow is by far my favorite color and I love the hoodie, it is sooo very warm!

Carmex Lip Condition Review!

Friday, November 30, 2012 0
As a member of Carmex Blog Squad, I am able to receive all kinds of goodies and try them out.  This time, I received Carmex everyday lip conditioner!  This is a new product line, that is orange flavored.

New Carmex© everyday lip conditioner is a Carmex original!  This uniquely creamy, light formula with a natural orange flavor is unlike anything you’ve tried from Carmex© before. It's neither a lip balm nor a lotion; it's a conditioner and it is like lotion for your lips.  The 13 moisturizing ingredients absorb quickly leaving no greasy or sticky feel – silky smooth lips will tell you it’s working! Use alone, or as a moisture boost under lipstick.

Here in Florida, yes, Florida it gets cold and dry.  Last weekend, I was outside both days and by Sunday night, my lips were dry and starting to really chap.  Then, I remembered my new Carmex lip conditioner.  Almost immediately, I felt the light, moisture on my lips begin to make them feel better.  The lip conditioner had a pleasant orange flavor/scent.  After using for a couple of more days, my lips feel great. I especially like the slanted tip that makes application very easy.

Carmex provided me with an extra tube to share and I sent it with my mother in law, since she was experiencing the same dry feeling on her lips.  Thanks Carmex for introducing me to another great product!

I was provided with product for review, however, as always the opinions are my own.

Carmex Lip Balm Review!

Friday, August 3, 2012 1
I absolutely love being on the Carmex Blog Squad!!  I am able to try out all the new items from Carmex!
This time, Carmex sent me another amazing package, which contained a great big tote, yellow, which is my favorite color, and six lip balms, including the new pomegranate flavor!  The tote is made of sturdy canvas and even has an extra zipper pouch for the little things, like Carmex sticks that you take with you to the beach.

I love the new pomegranate! It’s  just like the original Carmex stick, with a delicious pomegranate twist.

The Carmex sticks all contain SPF 15 now so that you can keep your lips moist and be sure that they are protected too.  In addition to the pomegranate, Carmex other flavors/scents are:  original, lime, strawberry, cherry and vanilla.  I really can't decide which is my favorite.

The sun  has been terrible so far this summer and our family is doing what we can to protect our skin from the sun. The Carmex lip balms are a simple and effective solution to protecting our lips.

Carmex has offered to giveaway to one lucky Couponing From Florida to Michigan the same package that I received!   I will be incorporating the giveaway into the Back to School Blog Hop that starts on Sunday.  Stay tuned!
