Piggy Paint Review!

Wednesday, August 15, 2012 0
Recently I had the opportunity to review Piggy Paint products, they sent me two different color polishes and paint remover and I loved it!  I immediately used the polish remover, (I am so glad they included remover, I was completely out!) to removed my weeks old polish.  I am a year round flip flop wearer and I usually try to have my nails looking great, since they are always showing.  Piggy Paint was made for and targeted for little girls, I wanted to try it out on myself first, before the girls did.  I was very impressed that  Piggy Paint provided the right look with great color!  I was sent Forever Fancy and Sea-quin colors.  I chose the Sea-quin!

Piggy Paint was created by Melanie Hurley, mother of 2 girls. Here is the shocking story that lead to her search for non-toxic nail polish and prompted her to create Piggy Paint:

“One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate (Click to see plate). From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths.
My quest was on, and Piggy Paint was born. As you may have guessed, our polish is NOT flammable and sits beautifully on the unaffected foam. We hope you enjoy this water-based polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients. Finally, a kid-friendly polish without the accompanying drawbacks of traditional polishes. It is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone… and made in the USA!”

Piggy Paint is a non-toxic, eco-friendly nail polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients and proudly made in the USA. It is free from formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, BPA, ethyl acetate, and acetone. (Yuck, who wants any of those near our sensitive, precious babies!) Piggy Paint also uses a hypoallergenic, odorless formula that makes it gentle enough for sensitive noses, yet it dries to a hard, durable finish!

Piggy Paint comes in a variety of fun, vibrant colors that have been a hit with celebrity parents like Tori Spelling and Jessica Alba. The polishes also come in adorable names such as Clouds of Candy (pastel blue) and Angel Kisses (light pink) What’s more, Piggy Paint also has a tween line called Project Earth that includes neon colors and in a glow in the dark polish. Also available now is Piggy Paint Refined, an adult line with more sophisticated colors, but still with the safe, non-toxic formula Piggy Paint is known for!

Overall, after a couple of weeks of having my toes Sea-quin color, the color is still in place, no pealing, cracking or chips  (well, ok the one on my big toe from really stubbing it the other day)  Now that I am familiar with the quality and how kid friendly Piggy Polish is, I will absolutely paint Annie, Alyssa and Makayla's piggys, so we can match!

Check out their website to purchase any of the Piggy Paint polishes or gift sets, from any of their lines, directly HERE.    Also, Piggy Paint has generously offered one reader a chance to win a gift certificate for $25.00 during the Back to School Blog Hop!    You can enter the Rafflecopter form HERE and good luck!
