Carmex Healing Cream and Hydrating Lotion Review & Giveaway!

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review two wonderful products from Carmex. Carmex, known, for the salve for chapped lips and cold sores was invented in 1936.  In 2011, Carmex released their new Carmex Healing Cream, and Carmex Healing Lotion.  I was super excited to try it when it first released and again now, thanks to Carmex, I am a member of the Carmex Blog Squad!

Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20 years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars.
Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin. Carma Labs employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the family: Alfred's grandsons Eric and Paul Woelbing. The Woelbing stove is now used for cooking things the family can actually eat.

I spent the last couple of weeks using both the cream and lotion. The Healing Cream comes in a 4oz tube. It has an easy to open/close, flip-up, snap-close
top, and top and, like the tube says, repairs your driest, roughest skin.

Look at some of the products that Carmex offers!

This was a perfect time for this product as my knuckles were getting quite dried out from the recent change in weather.  It gets so dry here in the wintertime.    I applied this in the morning, and I first noticed a really nice, pleasant scent, nothing too extreme, not flowery, nor manly. I didn't get the typical greasiness, you find in some lotions, it was just cool and soothing.

I used the healing lotion, in the evening, This also has an easy to open/close flip-up, snap-close top. The Healing Lotion is in a 5.5 oz. tube, and is for daily use to soothe and protect dry skin. I primarily used this in the evening, before sleeping. The lotion was absorbed quickly into my skin, and again, felt cool and soothing. Again, no lingering greasy feeling. Overall, after a week, actually less, my hands feel great! The excessive dryness is resolved. I will continue to use the healing lotion, throughout the winter, and the cream as needed.

Carmex also sent me a 'Carmex' hoodie, in Carmex yellow!  Yellow is by far my favorite color and I love the hoodie, it is sooo very warm!
