Many theaters offer free or cheap movies for kids during the summer. With money being so tight these days, the summer movie series are sure to be a hit. Here's a listing of theaters offering summer specials for kids. Many offer a discount on popcorn and other concessions too.

AMC Entertainment's Summer Movie Camp - Cheap $1 movies this summer, beginning June 17
AMC's Summer Movie Camp is not free, but close with movie showings costing just $1 per guest. According to AMC's press release, this valuable service, now in its 24th year, will be available in 39 markets in the U.S. and Canada. The Summer Movie Camp program begins June 17 and runs through August 5, with movies being shown on Wednesdays at 10:00 A.M. The doors will open up at 9:30 A.M. Advance tickets will be available for purchase on June 10 if consumers want to claim their tickets in advance. AMC's Summer Movie Camp is not limited to just children; adults are welcome too. A cheap movie with mom, dad or grandparents is a fine way to spend a summer day. To find a participating theater near you, please see sources below.
