The Salvation Army, it helps so many!

Tuesday, December 6, 2011
I can't say enough good things about the Salvation Army.  They have helped families and individuals for years.

Personally, I am very familiar with one of our local Jacksonville Salvation Army donation sites.

Now is a great time to clean out your closet and donate your clothes to the #SalvationArmy to make room for your Christmas gifts, and be sure to follow @SalvationArmyW for more info!

When one donates to the Salvation Army, the donations, of course, are tax deductible.

The donated items go through a sort of process.  Many items are put into one of the stores for the public to purchase.  Other items, maybe in need of repair or cleaning, are taken care of by workers, who are earning their way through one of the Salvation Army's rehab programs.  Once repaired, or cleaned, then the items are placed in the store for purchase.

Sometimes, the Salvation Army is unable to sell certain items in their stores, so then the items are sorted and organized and put out for 'auction'.   My local Salvation Army hosts these auctions to the public three times a week.  The general public is welcome to attend and participate in the auctions.  There are so many items that are in the auctions, for example toys, electronic and furniture to name a few.

I have participated in bidding in the auctions and have utilized many if not all of my auction winnings to go in my flea market booth for other to purchase.  The majority of the individuals at the auctions are flea market vendors trying to find items to resell.

Every item that is donated is so very important, not only to all the services that Salvation Army provides, but that it even extends further down to many individuals primary source of income.

Check out the many ways that Salvation Army provides services HERE.

Again, now is a great time to clean out your closet and donate your clothes to the #SalvationArmy to make room for your Christmas gifts! Be sure to follow @SalvationArmyW for more info!
